TD Direct
TD Direct Investment allows you to export your historical orders from the Advanced Dashboard web interface.
Exporting from TD Advanced Dashboard
- In TD Advanced Dashboard, open Historical Orders.
- Set a custom date range. Going back as far as the dashboard allows gives Trandence the opening trades of positions you closed later.
- Turn Order Detail on, so each order carries its fill details.
- From the gear menu beside Account Detail, export the list as CSV.
Trandence also reads the order status export and the order history report; see below.
Import To Trandence
- Open Trandence and go to the Trades page.
- Click Import Trades and select Upload CSV/TXT.
- Choose TD Direct as the broker.
- Set CSV Timezone to the timezone used by the broker export. For most US equities workflows, this is America/New_York.
- Optionally apply an import preset if you use saved defaults for this account.
- Select or drop the exported CSV file.
- Review the parsed trades before saving. Confirm symbols, side, open/close times, quantity, prices, commissions, and the session date range.
- Use Batch Tags to label the import, for example
TD Direct MainorTD Direct CAD. - Click Import & Review Summary to save the import and open the post-import summary.
For the full import workflow, including presets, preview validation, multi-session progress, and conflict review, see Importing Trades.
What Trandence Reads
Trandence reads three TD exports. Choose the timezone that matches the export.
- Order status (WebBroker or Advanced Dashboard):
Ticker,Action,Qty,Rem. Qty,Avg Fill PriceandOrder DateorDate & Time. The filled quantity isQtylessRem. Qty, so a cancelled order is imported only for the part that filled. - Order history report (with
As of DateandAccountat the top):Security Type,Action,Symbol,Order Date,Fill Status,Fill QuantityandAvg Fill Price. Mutual funds are skipped.
What is imported:
- Stocks and ETFs listed in the US. Canadian listings (
C=CA) are skipped as non-US. - Stock and index options:
SPY C 22NOV22 396.00orQQQ C 30JUN23 368.00 (100) US(QQQ, 30 Jun 2023, 368 call, 100 shares per contract). The trade is filed under the underlying.Buy to Open,Sell to Close,Sell to OpenandBuy to Closeopen and close long and short positions. - Expirations: in the order history report, an option that expired appears as a
Sellfilled for 0 on its expiry date. Trandence closes the position there at $0. The order status export has no such rows; an expired option stays open and is listed under Expired options to resolve on the Trades page. - Fees: these exports have no commission column, so trades are imported with zero commission.
Trandence keeps supported US equity symbols, including common share-class formats such as BRK.A and BRK.B, and organizes the imported executions into completed trades for review.
Conflict Handling
If imported rows overlap with trades already in Trandence, use Review Conflicts to compare them before saving. The safest default is Keep Existing, which preserves the trade already in your account.
If you need to replace existing data, delete or correct the existing trades first, then import the file again intentionally. You can review completed imports from Import History.
